Essence ~ Hip Girls wear Blue Jeans collection

Essence ~ Hip Girls wear Blue Jeans collection
02 Cute but Cool
Nude with pink shimmer

Today I’m going to show you the entire recent Hip Girls Wear Blue Jeans collection. There are four polishes in the collection:

01 Start the blue Rebellion – a dark denim blue shimmer
02 Cute But Cool – Nude with pink shimmer
03 Show me what you Got! – Rose pink crème
04 Don’t by Shy! – Pastel blue crème

I used the nude as my base colour. It behaves like a true diva. It is streaky and really difficult to apply so it looks nice. I managed to make it cover in two coats but I would definitely use a third coat if I should wear this on its own. I didn’t wear it on its own though: I made flowers and dots with the three other polishes in the collection.

I topped it all with a layer of El Corazón’s holo flakie topper 421h/25. It killed the shimmer effect from the base colour, which wasn’t my intention, but never mind!

Let me show you the final manicure already:

I must admit that I really like this. The photos are taken in the morning sunshine.

This is two coats of Cute but Cool on its own. I hardly ever wear nudes but I must admit that I really like this one on me. The shimmer is really awesome.

Here is the entire collection and the stepsister:

This is a really cool little collection to a really good price.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Cute but Cool is a diva and not easy to work with. I love it anyway because the shimmer is amazing

Essence ~ 04 Don’t Be Shy! and 01 Start the Blue Rebellion!

Essence ~ 04 Don’t Be Shy! and 01 Start the Blue Rebellion!
Pastel blue crème and denim blue shimmer

Today’s polishes are both from the recent Hip Girls Wear Blue Jeans collection. There are four polishes in the collection and I bought all four of them. Today I’m wearing the two first.

I used the pastel blue as my base colour. It’s very easy to work with and it covered perfectly in two coats. The drying time is really good. Thumbs up for that polish, it’s really a winner.

Let me show you the final manicure already:

I stamped with the denim blue: Start the Blue Rebellion. It’s so great when ordinary polishes stamp! The design is from Infinity Nails-©97. There’s also a layer of topcoat to protect the design.

I almost forgot to mention that there’s also glitter involved – in case you hadn’t noticed it yourself. It’s “Quite Interesting” from LynBDesigns. That’s a clear base packed with microglitter and various shapes of glitter in purple, green, iridescent and blue. I applied one coat of the pretty glitter over the pale blue – here’s what that looked like:

And here’s Don’t Be Shy! on its own. Two coats. It dries up to a silky matte finish, and - It Dries fast. That’s all she wrote.

Here are the polishes and the stamping plate I used. I am considering to sell some of my Infinity Nails stamping plates, since I hardly ever use them. It’s a shame that they just sit there when there’s nothing wrong with them!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Pearly matte
Overall impression: Great polishes both of them. I would be surprised if the pale blue stamps too
Buy again: Yes to both

Glam Polish ~ Kiss the Girl

Glam Polish ~ Kiss the Girl
Fuchsia jelly with scattered holo and holo glitter bits

Kiss the Girl is from the Valentine collection from 2016.

The formula is really good and easy to work with. It’s also very pigmented; I used two easy coats for my manicure. The drying time was pretty good.

I stamped on it. The design is from the stamping plate UR Beautiful-14. I stamped with a stamping polish from Colour Alike called “B. a Rainy Mood”.

Here’s the final manicure including topcoat. The photo is taken in the sun.

This is the same thing in ordinary daylight, no sun or flash. It’s such a lovely colour.

Here’s Kiss the Girl on its own. There’s also a layer of topcoat included here.

This is the stuff I used for my manicure.

Kiss the Girl likes topcoat a lot. I’m wearing one layer of topcoat on my left hand and two on my right and there’s definitely a difference. I recommend using two layers of topcoat to make it all smooth.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Jelly with scattered holo
Overall impression: Great colour and quality
